FOODGASM! THE LOUNGE, Washington Suites Hotel, Alexandria, Virginia

I don't normally blog about hotel restaurants and definitely don't normally eat that them, however, I keep coming back to this restaurant which is located on the second floor of the Washington Suites Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia. I've been spending alot of time in Northern Virginia lately for business and found this hotel by circumstance and a great internet search. On superbowl Sunday, I'm here, bored and hungry. This was the first time I ate at The Lounge. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. It's relatively small but clean and airy. If you are into sports and good food, you have to try it. I had the wings and my hubby ordered the club sandwich. Mind you when we were finished the only thing left was the styrofoam container our meal came in. And again last night, here we go again. A half rack of BBQ ribs partnered with waffle fries and a side house salad. Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! Finger licking good. This morning as we head out to return home from yet another trip up we paused for an hour or so to grab lunch, except both of us ordered from the breakfast side of the menu. What is it about this restaurant. I guess my mind and body knows good food when it eats it. Hubby ordered the french toast and it looked so good I know on our next visit, and yes we will stay here, that's what I'm ordering. I ordered the breakfast burrito. There are a variety of things to stuff it with. I chose eggs of course, cheddar cheese, green peppers, onions and ham. It is normally paired with house potatoes and a biscuit, however, because I was trying to not be so bad since for reasons unknown to me a pint of Chubby Hubby icecream found it's way into my stomach last night, I nixed the additional carbs and got a house salad. This burrito arrived at my table piping hot and stuffed full of hot, yummy, cooked to perfection ingredients. It is so large, I now have a meal for later. The salad is also great. Mixed greens with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and croutons with your choice of dressing. I do believe I made the perfect pair. As hotel restaurants go, if you are ever in the Northern Virginia, Alexandria area pop on in to the Washington Suites Hotel and grab a meal at The Lounge.
