FOODGASM! SWEET WATER Tavern, Fairfax, Virginia

We were looking for a place to grab a meal and wait for the traffic to die down. It was Northern Virginia and 5 o'clock in the evening Only a nut would venture onto interstate 95 south if they didn't have to. After asking a few people where there was good food and great atmosphere Sweet Water Tavern won the bet. Oh my, I was beyond pleasantly surprised. The food was beyond wonderful. The people great and very pleasant. My mouth just waters when thoughts of the steak I treated myself to. They marinade it in their house specialty beer for 24 hours. It's tossed onto the grill and cooked to perfection. Because of the beer maranade when it's grilled it gets a beautiful sear that some might think it was burned. That is until you cut into it. My oh My. I'm fanning myself right now because I am so ready to travel back to Northern Virginia just to get another one of these steaks. I also forgot to tell you, I started with a wonderful salad and my entree was pared perfectly with a potatoe. Now do yourself a favor, forget the dishes and head to Sweet Water Tavern. You won't be disappointed.
